Audit Division

MIT’s internal Audit Division evaluates academic, research, and administrative processes and offers recommendations for improvement. Their website includes information on how to prepare and what to expect.

MIT’s Covid-19 Info Center

The Covid-19 Info Center is a website that offers the latest updates, guidance, and resources to help support you during this challenging time.

EHS - Environment, Health & Safety Office

The Environment, Health & Safety Office supports personal health and safety, environmental stewardship, and sustainability on campus. Their website offers in-depth information about regulations, responsibilities, and best practices around construction, chemical safety, radiation protection, and more.

Division of Student Life

  • The Dean on Call responds to emergency issues involving students and MIT affiliates after hours, on weekends, and any time the Institute is closed. The DOC provides immediate response as well as follow up in the event of an emergency or crisis.
  • The Office of Religious, Spiritual, and Ethical Life is composed of more than 20 chaplains and 40 student groups that offer opportunities for worship, meditation, prayer, and study. They can provide or refer you to services that provide faith-informed counseling and crisis support.
  • Student Disability Services helps students with disabilities—visible or invisible, temporary or permanent—fully access all of MIT’s programs and services.
  • Student Support Services (S3) promotes the academic success and holistic experience of students. They offer advice, advocacy, resources, and referrals to help navigate life at MIT.
  • Violence Prevention and Response (VPR) is MIT’s primary on-campus resource for preventing and responding to interpersonal violence including sexual assault, dating and domestic violence, stalking, and sexual harassment—no matter when or where it happened. Their services are free, confidential, and available 24/7

Ethicspoint Hotline

Ethicspoint is a third-party vendor that provides anonymous reporting for non-emergency complaints about wrongdoing and violations of Institute policy. Reports can be filed online or by phone.

Office of the General Counsel

The Office of the General Counsel provides legal advice, counseling, and service to MIT and represents MIT in its legal matters. Because the it represents the Institute, the OGC cannot offer advice or representation on personal matters.

Office of the First Year

The Office of the First Year is the first-year headquarters and a resource during students’ undergraduate years.

Office of Minority Education

MIT’s Office of Minority Education promotes academic excellence, builds strong communities, and develops professional mindsets among students of underrepresented minority groups, with the ultimate goal of developing leaders in the academy, industry, and society.

Postdoctoral Association

The MIT Postdoctoral Association supports the more than 1,500 postdoctoral trainees appointed in 50 departments at MIT during their professional research training and career development.

The Institute Discrimination & Harassment Response Office

The Institute Discrimination & Harassment Response Office serves as the central office to address discrimination and discriminatory harassment (including sexual misconduct, intimate partner violence, and stalking) for faculty, staff, postdocs, and students.


Stopit is a confidential venue for reporting electronic-based harassment and other inappropriate behavior at MIT. It is available to all students, staff, and affiliates.

Working Group for Support Staff

The Working Group for Support Staff offers advocacy, professional development, networking, and fellowship to the 2,000+ support and administrative staff members both on and off campus.
